I Googled make win98 bootable cd and this seems to pb to various sites that tell you how to make a boot floppy. Is there a way to take existing win98 cd and create a Cd that will boot directly from the CD/DVD using no floppy.

I can't recall if Win98 was able to install directly from CD or not. Do you lot not have a floppy drive on that PC to practise the install? The kicking floppy is just the interim required to become the install started from the CD. Otherwise it may exist pretty complicated taking the existing CD and re-creating it to be bootable.

Yep, there ARE bootable Win98SE CDs. I have 2 (sorry, not going to give them up.)

Aye, you can make your ain (assuming you take a original Win98SE CD).

    Here'southward one way: http://www.ntcompatible.com/How_do_I_create_a_bootable_Windows_98_CD-ROM_t23157.html

Another is to get WinISO. Make an ISO of the CD. DL a re-create of the floppy boot paradigm which yous can DL from Bootdisk.com http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm

Make a new ISO that includes both. Burn it. Washed.

Constitute with google in 3 seconds. Searched for "Create windows 98 bootable cd"

Uses nero for called-for merely y'all should be able to adapt it to use imgburn.

This uses imgburn to create a bootable win xp disc
Yous should be able to change it to create a 98 disc.

edit looks like Cornucopia beat me to it while I was typing this up.

These methods work past combining the kick floppy and 98 files on cd which works like the floppy method but combines them on cd and that works. What I aiming for was to boot directly to setup similar an XP deejay.

    I don't get what yous're wanting.
The XP disc works the same mode. It has a kicking sector image which so passes off to the AUTORUN.INF of the CD. Just like bootable Win98SE CDs exercise. Simply like what we're suggesting you build.

Practise you not want to build i? Y'all surely realize y'all tin can't burn a stamped CD, nor could you lot burn a boot sector into a not-bootable CD-R (if yous're thinking of trying to "retrofit" them). Look on Ebay, then.

To kick direct to setup all that's needed is to create an autoexec.bat file and include information technology in the root directory on the boot CD. I recently fabricated such a CD which included Ghost 2003, but I chose to accept mine boot directly to Ghost instead of Windows.
